I love embroidery. All kinds of it, so I am doing my best to learn as many techniques as I can. I have so many to play with. One I had worked on is sashiko. I found this sampler on Etsy, and I bought it.

I know sashiko traditionally is sewn with white thread on the dark indigo background, but after the first white square, I was bored.

So I decided to mix up the colors. One the squares with different patterns, I used a solid floss. On the squares that were all the same pattern, I used variegated floss.

It took me a few months to finish it.
